LOTD: You couldn’t save me, but you can’t let me go

Back in this post, I talked about getting back to my roots in blogging, specifically doing looks of the day by mixing and matching items instead of doing a full outfit from one designer. I made a promise to myself that I’d do at least one post a week catering to that. This look I put together is the true start of that promise.

Blogging like that gives me so much creative freedom to just do what I want. I don’t have to answer to anyone but myself. I realized that doing this keeps both the shopping and the blogging experiences fresh. When I shop, I’m looking for things I can put together, not just one outfit from a designer and where I end up looking like everyone else. Don’t misunderstand me, I don’t mind doing one outfit, but I totally dig being able to do what I want. That means different lighting, camera angles, more moody stuff. I’m still a fashion blogger, and it means I want the clothing to shine.

In this look, the trousers from Avec Toi available at August’s Kinky X were a great base. There is a tank that’s sold separately, but I wanted something a little more edgier. That’s where the Gr8 Nipplelinni tank from Quirky Stories comes in. (BTW, I’d like to adopt the Gr8 Nipplelinni as my new nickname.) The tank works really well with the trousers. There’s a wee bit of poke through in the back, but I don’t mind it so much because the overall look feels right. You can also wear the trousers without the suspenders.
