Designer Spotlight: mimikri

Today’s look of the day is inspired by a true fashion designer, Mimikri Kit. Mimi has been creating Second Life fashion items since I started in game about 2006, and I’ve been a devotee of hers ever since.

The reason I am telling you about her is that I think she is extremely underrated. With each release shows a true, fashion-forward sensibility that captures a modern woman in Second Life. One of the best things about her designs is that it’s easy to mix and match collection pieces, as well as with other designers. In this post, I’m showing a couple of older releases from mimikri. The Bomber jacket and the fun shark dress.

Her vision and ideas are always so creative and original. Sure, you’re going not going to get tiny skirts or cleavage-baring tops from her fashion line, but sometimes it’s nice to take a break from that and be truly fashionable.

At the moment, Mimi is releasing clothing only for the Maitreya and Legacy bodies, but perhaps she’ll branch out into other bodies so you Reborn ladies can give her a try. mimikri fashions are usually offered at the monthly events of Uber, Collabor88, Tres Chic and Cosmopolitan. So keep an eye out!
