My Big Blogger Challenge Topic today is: Is your avatar more or less your current biological age? Do you portray a younger avatar, or older? Why is this?

Volare is the age of what’s inside my brain. Even though my body is older than she, I like to think of myself as her age, but with the wisdom (!) of an older person. If she were real, she’d rule the world. Okay, maybe a small and rocky outcrop on the edge of the universe.  Conversely, I have a completely different avie that is 100% a decrepit senior citizen. Hunched over, cane in hand. My partner has one as well. We originally created these alts to get away from everyone and have some alone time. (It’s nice to be anonymous at times. )

We originally just replicated our main avatars, until one day we stumbled upon old, not-so-pretty avatars and we became Ma and Pee Paw. We find it fascinating to skirt the grid as this elderly duo. Other avies go out of their way to be nice to us. We even witnessed politeness towards us. People seem to get a kick out of something human, but completely out of the norm for SL grid standard “looks.” And what’s interesting to me, is that when we’re Ma and Pee Paw, we totally go into character, even when we’re just chatting with each other. I find it refreshing to get a change of perspective on the world.

And yes, inside the body of an old person, there’s a young person wondering what the hell happened.

Keeping in the theme of my challenge topic, today’s dark elf look is from Aikea Rieko of The Plastik. The dress is a new release from Aikea. It’s called the Lungless Symphony and is offered in a ton of colors. The great thing is that when you buy one dress, you’re actually getting two, one solid and one patterned. The Plastik continues to be one of my main stays for clothes and deals. Always quality work.  My skin is from the LionHeart line from The Plastik as well.
