Movie Night

Let me apologize for being absent. I’ve been having major viewer issues. (If anyone can direct me on how to install “windlight” settings into Snowglobe 2.0 on a Mac, I’d be forever grateful.)

Normally, I do my own thing when it comes to fashion, but up until lately, I had felt stuck in a groove of shopping at the same places every one and their mother shops at and looking like everyone else. Don’t get me wrong, I love the stuff. So I went on a total blog perving binge and really started checking out places that are featured in other’s posts. I’m giving a shout out to Norilicious because her blog turned me on to the store “Just Me.”

Just Me is a large, rambling store with oodles of yummy, casual clubby/urban looks. The halter top and jacquard print capris featured here is a small sample of what you can expect. A word of warning, the halter top is not for the nipple shy.  Just Me’s prim attachments are also script sizeable for the prim challenged. (You know who you are!)

More soon!

  1. I tried Snowglobe a week or so ago. I’ll try to check tonight and see if I figured out how to do the windlight custom settings.

Do you have any solutions for improving avatar movement on a Mac? I’m tired of my avi lurching like Frankenstein, running into people, and falling off stairs.

  2. Hi there! Thanks for checking.

Is it lag getting you down maybe? I run my Macbook Pro on Mid settings on graphics, and only on Ultra settings when I’m photographing.

I have noticed a huge performance improvement on Snowglobe, that’s for sure. Also, a lot less crashing.

  3. Maybe…I’ll see if the performance is any better in Snowglobe tonight. I’ve been jumping back and forth between Kirsten’s S20, and the SL 2.0 viewer; having recently added the Starlight skin.

One thing I discovered this morning is that part of the problem may be that I’m typically running SL in a high resolution window. I shrank my window smaller to see if it made any difference, because I was at the sale at fri.day and there was tons of lag there. It did seem to make a difference. So maybe in the future when I’m moving around a lot or in a high traffic area, I’ll shrink the window.

  4. Well, I checked on Snowglobe last night, both the 1.x viewer and the preview 2.X viewer – they were picking up previously saved settings from the SL viewers preferences. But I remember that earlier this spring I had to put in the settings again and save them when I moved from 1.X SL viewer to the 2.X SL viewer.

I was pleased to see that both versions of Snowglobe let me push the graphic settings higher than the SL viewers. The SL viewers just bomb when I try to set the graphic settings higher than “low”.

    1. I’m glad you got it sorted out! Color me jealous! I can take pics at Ultra settings, but since I’m on a Mac, I can’t get shadows to render. *sighs*

I also set the anti-aliasing under Hardware to 1x to reduce jagginess
